INDY INDIE BOOK CRAWL (March 20 - March 23rd).  27 independent bookstores

throughout the greater Indpls. area will be on the book crawl.  There will be

prizes for participants.  Come to any of the stores on the book crawl to get

started with your bookmark card/list of stores.

The IIBC is sponsored by Indiana Humanities and Butler MFA.

Come meet local Irish poet and artist ROSALEEN CROWLEY, who will be signing copies of her books:  OF LAND AND POETRY:  IRELAND and BE PREPARED TO BE LUMINOUS and others.  She will be at BLACK DOG BOOKS (115 S. Main Street in Zionsville) 2-5PM on SATURDAY, MARCH 22nd.

This event will take place simulaneously with the INDY INDIE BOOK CRAWL.

We hope you will race into Black Dog Books on Saturday, April 26th between 2-5PM and meet local author, Jeff Berger, who will be signing copies of his "car"toon book for all ages:  World Racing History.   Jeff presents a thorough history of the history of racing in a fun way that is easy to read.  Jeff created the 3-D models for the race cars featured in the book - some of which will be on display during the event.  Light refreshments will be served.  Please call us at 317-733-1747 to reserve your copy!

To support Alzheimer's Research during the "MEMORIES ON MAIN" annual fundraiser for this great cause.

We are raffling off a beautiful leather bound Easton Press copy of The Great Gatsby (on the 100th Anniversary of when F. Scott Fitzgerald's book was first published).

Raffle tickets are a $5 donation each, or 5 tickets for a $20 donation. 

We will be drawing the winner of the book at 5PM.  You do not need to be present to win.

ART WALK! (4 - 9PM on Friday, June 27th)

Come enjoy an artful evening all along Zionsville's Main Street.  Businesses will be hosting artists with their wonderful artwork.

Black Dog Books will be hosting 3 Indiana artists:  Donna Short, David Seward and Jackson Mahoney.  

Donna Short paints plein-air and still life in oils and pastels. She paints all over the USA and worldwide.  Her goal is to give her paintings a sense of place, mood, atmosphere and light.

David Seward is an award-winning Impressionist, Plein-air artist.  His oil paintings depict the beauty he finds in the Indiana landscape.  His paintings often depict local scenes.

Jackson Mahaney is a horticultural photographer as well as a gardener.  His floral photography accentuates the natural beauty of the flowers he grows.

We will be serving light refreshments.  Come and enjoy a wonderful free event!

Please join us for Nicholas Meyer's book signing event at Black Dog Books,     6-8PM on Friday, September 12th.  He will be speaking and signing copies of his latest Sherlock Holmes book, Sherlock Holmes and the Real Thing.  In this historical mystery, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are drawn into the world of art forgery.

Nicholas Meyer is an author, script writer and director.  He has directed several of the Star Trek movies among others.

THE RAVEN returns evermore!  Join us at BLACK DOG BOOKS at 8PM on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17th for our tradition candlelight presentation of Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven performed by MATT LAGEMAN.  There may be a surprise encore as in recent years past.

Come early to get a seat!  We'll serve hot and cold cider and raven cookies. The event is free.

Join us for this dog-lover's book event, 1-3PM, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15th at BLACK DOG BOOKS (115 S. Main St., Zionsville, IN).

LISABETH ARMSTRONG will be signing copies of her new heart-warming book, THREE DOG BOWLS.  She wrote and illustrated this book about the 15 beloved dogs of her family's life.....and counting!  The book is narrated by the author and by her dogs!  She has captured her dog's thoughts spot-on, like only someone who is totally tuned into animals can.      Paintings and photographs by the author depict the dogs masterfully.  The 3 bowls symbolize love, compassion and spirit.

Beth lives on a farm in Westfield, IN with her husband, son, 3 dogs, 2 horses and a cat.  She is a writer, painter and photographer.  She studied art, photography and ornithology at Earlham College.
